Emma

Emma was born in Monmouth, a small village in Wales, and studied Equine Science at the University of West England. All her life has revolved around horses, and this continues today with her much loved “Fury”, who has a “Heart of a Lion” and Ultime de la combe.
Emma moved to France in 2002 and has been lucky enough to work in many different domains, giving her a real and practical understanding of French life and culture. After moving to France Emma worked as a caregiver, which gave her a real sense of fulfillment. On becoming a mother in 2008, Emma moved from caregiving and obtained her DEAES qualification and her French language certifications. This led her to establish her own business, providing administrative assistance.
In 2022, Emma received "service a la personne" recognition for the quality of her service. She feels fortunate to love what she does and she is grateful for the support she has received. She often reflects on how lucky she is and counts her blessings every day

Andrew

Born a WW2 baby in Birmingham, but to a very proud Scottish mother who thought it should have happened in the Hebrides, Andrew was educated in Bath and Birmingham University before spending his working career as a health care lawyer in London.  He also qualified as a Mediator and a Chartered Arbitrator – areas in which he continues to have an interest.  Outside the office he was a keen sportsman across many games, but his favourite was field hockey, a fact that probably explains his now having two metal knee joints. He was carried off one hockey pitch at age 16 with a totally torn cartilage in his right knee.  “Off games” for quite a long time.
Academically, Andrew was more a scientist than a linguist – he originally started to qualify as a doctor - but he manages in France, his adopted country. In 2008, he and his wife Ros bought a 300-year-old stone farmhouse and maintenance and repair will forever be a “work-in-progress”.  Hidden away are a couple of workshops and an art studio where he indulges his love of making things and painting.
At present, he is working on a book of children's stories and also on a book of manners for children and young people.
